Shortcut: h
This video explores methods for showing and hiding mates in an assembly to find specific mates quickly.
Mates are hidden in the graphics area by default. Use the J key to toggle between showing and hiding all mates in the assembly.
Hover over a mate in the list to see any instances associated with it, and its icon in the graphics area.
Toggle a mate’s visibility on and off, showing and hiding the mate, respectively using the eye icon in the list.
To show multiple mates at once, select them from the list, right-click, and select Show. Do the same on an instance to show all the mates associated with that instance. Right-click and select Hide to hide them again.
Select Show mates mode, or use the H key to toggle it on or off. Hover over instances either in the instance list or the graphics area to view the associated mates. Click an instance to keep its associated mates visible.
In the graphics area, select a mate icon to cross-highlight it in the list. Visible icons also have helpful context menus. Right-click on it and select Edit to make adjustments to the mate without having to locate it in the list.
When working with subassemblies, the Show mates mode shows all the mates associated with the instance, regardless of the subassembly level.
